- All about Japan, my all-time favorite destination.
Japan travel tips and stories from my trips to this beautiful country.
I visited Japan many times and spent months there at a time, sometimes alone, sometimes with Ismo. Although I have been to Tokyo multiple times, instead of the neon lights of the capital and other big cities, I am drawn to traditional small villages, fragrant forests, and the Japanese mountain region with its onsen villages. The best thing is winter hiking and a dip in an onsen afterwards. Let’s not forget Japanese food, either.
Japan is my all-time favorite travel destination, and the country’s first capital, Nara, is my spiritual home, where I return again and again to meet the sacred deer.
Enjoy the journey with us – make a cup of green tea and take a comfortable position in your favorite armchair.

Japan – visited places map
I haven’t written a post about every place I have visited in Japan, but here you can see where I’ve been. To be honest, I have written way too little from Japan compared to the amount of time I’ve spent there. I have also tens of thousands of unpublished photos from Japan, so I think it’s about time to give you a treat with those too… but before that, click the map and feel free to ask me more about any destination you are interested in. A little by little, I will add more posts here.
